Prop 65 Statement
CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 65 STATEMENT
H&G Chocolate Dist. Co. DBA Oodaalolly takes food and health safety along with conformity with legislative and regulatory standards seriously. With our documented Supplier Approval Program we are ensuring that our raw material suppliers are meeting the requirements of California’s Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, Proposition 65.
Cocoa trees in most growing regions throughout the world absorb elements such as lead and cadmium that are naturally occurring from the farm soil in which they are grown. Trace amounts of minerals and these heavy metals can be found in the most cocoa production in various levels depending on the growing region. Proposition 65 exempts these naturally occurring chemicals in food.
Our cocoa and chocolate products are in compliance with the current Proposition 65 regulations. As a company we are committed to making changes to our policies to maintain compliance with any revisions to the current Proposition 65 standards in the future.
WARNING: Consumption of our cocoa and chocolate products may expose you to lead and cadmium that are known to the State of California to cause birth defects or reproductive harm. For more information go to www.p65warnings.ca.gov
This Proposition warning does not mean our products have violated any product safety standards. The State of California states “the fact that a product bears a Proposition 65 warning does not mean by itself that the product is unsafe” The State of California also stated “you could think of Proposition 65 more as a ‘right to know’ law than a pure product safety law.”
